Thousands of residents reportedly took time off for holidays for fear of impending earthquake predictions will actually come true. Prediction was made by a scientist decades ago, but still many local residents who regard it really will happen.
Scientists named Raffaele Bendandi, had died 30 years ago, admitted that he had successfully predict there will be a series of earthquakes in the past. As a result Bendandi became famous as an earthquake predictor scientist and one of his predictions according to various news on the internet and blogs are going to Rome earthquake on 11 May.
Bendandi, who rose to fame in the 1920s and 30s, believes the earthquake can be predicted if the configuration of the planets, sun and moon studied.
Italian dictator, Mussolini, was very impressed with the idea and gave Bendandi honors.
Many parties who made trouble with public trust in this forecast, a report appeared in the city, as reported by the BBC's Duncan Kennedy, is an increase of 18 employees taking leave Rome. As well as scientists of the country, many experts and even official institutions such as the Italian Civil Protection Agency, argue that prediction, saying the quake could not be predicted with certainty.
In addition to the official statement from the Civil Protection Agency, the government -owned television stations have broadcast a variety of impressions to calm the citizens.
But some people seem to believe that the Eternal City of Rome, was not forever.
